My first trip to Mcdonalds was in 1961, the innovative chain opened its first restaurant in Cleveland Ohio. I was a mere 6 years old, but I can still remember the drive to this iconic eating establishment. Mom in the drivers seat, baby in the oven and 4 kids piled in the back of the station wagon. Mcdonalds didnt have eat in or drive through back in the day, we waited in the car while Mom went up to a window to place our order. We were all excited to see what culinary delights were brought back to the car.. I remember the smell of the fresh fries, and onions aroma coming from the bag of burgers.. We all happily munched on our way home. The Mcdonalds was not located in our hood, it seemed like a long drive that took forever, when in truth it was probably about 5 miles from our home.. We were used to heading to the neighborhood Big Boys Drive In ( that is another story ) .. this trip was a treat and not the norm for our family, I still remember it 50 plus years later. Do you have a special Mcdonalds Memory ?
